STEM Teaching Award



The Center for Excellence in Math and Science is pleased to announce the Finalists for the 2010 Rochester Area Excellence in STEM Teaching Award.

Purpose:
To recognize effective, engaging, and innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) teaching in grades K-12.

Eligibility:
Appropriately credentialed teachers who work directly with children in grades kindergarten through twelve in a State-approved public or private school in the following counties: Monroe, Cayuga, Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates.

The Award:
Travel scholarships for up to $2000 will be awarded to 5 qualified nominees to attend a national STEM learning conference of their choice. Additionally, the grand prize winner of the Rochester Area Excellence in STEM Teaching Award will also receive a $10,000 classroom upgrade.  These awards are made possible through a generous donation from Wards Natural Science of Henrietta, NY.

Scott Krebbecks, General Science, Honeyoe Falls-Lima Middle School
Robert Hollwedell-  Technology education, Alexander Middle/High School
